The Nugs: Week 3

We took John on his first walk last week around dinnertime when it was nice and cool, and he loved it!  We've been walking with him every night since.  It's a great family activity!

John loves his new Fisher Price rocker/cradle, which is where he takes his daytime naps.  Best $50 I ever spent.

John's First REAL Bath

Last night we attempted to give John his first real bath.  As you can see, it was a success - if by success you mean that we got him to sit in the tub for approximately 90 seconds before he screamed bloody murder and wanted out.  We didn't even have time to get the baby soap out.  I was confident that we had gotten at least his face and dirty parts pretty clean until he promptly peed and pooped on himself on the changing table a minute later.  Sigh.  Better luck next time.

Fun Times with "Auntie" Meghan!

We have been so lucky to have Meghan Conaty come over a few times a week to help me out with things around the house and taking care of John!  She's such a pro and John just loves her.  We hope that when she lands her high-powered nursing job she still has some time to stop by!

John's Photo Shoot!

The other morning, John seemed particularly content, so I took the opportunity to dress him up in an adorable blue knit "sleeping bag" and hat (thank you Joan Flynn!) and take some pictures.  There were some silly faces in there, and a lot in which I think he looks like Peter!  Enjoy!

John's First Bath

....well, sponge bath that is!  He was such a trooper and actually started to like the warm water once we started lathering him up.

Baby Aerobics

I am a crazy wriggler!  I love moving my arms and legs and I am so strong.  I love my lambie seat - I'm still a little small for it but look how my legs almost reach the end!  

I like to do baby aerobics and stretch out my legs!

John Peter Matsoukas

After 28 long hours of labor, John Peter Matsoukas made his appearance on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10:41 p.m!  He was 21 inches long and 7 lbs flat.  We were so lucky to have all four of our parents there, as well as Kevin, Amy and Danny Leicht who came to the hospital to see John just a few minutes after he was born!  He is just perfect - 10 fingers, 10 toes, big feet and beautiful eyes.  We are so excited for him to meet you all!
