Last Glass

I have decided to give up drinking during the week for Lent. This sounds like it should not be a very big deal (and it probably shouldn't be) but Peter and I love having a glass of wine to unwind after John goes to bed, so it's going to be a tiny sacrifice - and isn't that the point? So tonight I am celebrating Mardi Gras with an extra-large glass of delicious Chardonnay. Happy Fat Tuesday everyone!

Fun with the McIntyres!

This past Sunday we went over to our friends the McIntyres' for brunch and playtime. Jessica is my best friend and roommate from college and she and her husband have two darling children, Maggie and Michael who are almost 3. Of course, we were about 2 hours late since John picked this one day to take a 2.5-hour morning nap, but we got to see the twins before their nap time and great fun was had by all. Maggie and Mikey were kind enough to lend us their super cool computer toy for John to play with. I'd also be remiss not to mention that Rob cooked up an unbelievable brunch including sausage and pepper sandwiches and the best quiche I have ever tasted. It was a great day and we have to do it again soon!

Swimsuit Edition

John was sitting on my lap between swigs of his bottle, when he glanced over and saw the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition on our couch. (Confession: I am the one that buys it. Every year it is my motivation to work out for the upcoming summer.). He reached over, grabbed it, opened it, and would not put it down. He likes this magazine better than any book he has ever read and refused to put it down. Peter and I were laughing like crazy and managed to grab the camera in between laughs. Keeping watch

John's favorite activity by far is staring out our front window at cars, snow, people, anything. It's so fun to watch him mesmerized by all of the activity. Here are a few pictures from our last session:

Crib fun

Tonight Peter had a shoot and did not get home until late, so I got to come home early and John and I enjoyed some rare Mommy-John time on a weeknight.  Among other things we played in his crib.  Now that he is starting to enjoy some tummy time he likes being in there and looking at all of his fun toys.  Here are a few pictures I managed to sneak in:
