Happy Tuesday

Not to brag, but it's really pretty great to come home to this guy every day.

Chicago summer is here!

We are so happy that summer is finally here in Chicago! To celebrate, this weekend we went to Fellger Park with the rest of Roscoe Village to swing and introduce John to the water fountain. He is slowly warming up to the playground, spending most of his time staring at other kids.

Bubbles!

On Saturday, we went to John's first music class at Bubbles Academy, otherwise known as "baby heaven."  It's this wonderful play center/school not far from us that hosts all kinds of classes in these huge, awesome playrooms.  John is in a "Crawlers" music class with a bunch of other babies who are around his age.  The teacher is awesome - she plays the guitar for part of it, plays music on the loudspeakers for the rest of the time, and we danced, sang, crawled, played, and just had a blast.  John just stared at the other kids and adults and teacher for a lot of the time, but by the end when the drums and other toys came out, he was way into it!  We can't wait for next time!

Twinkle twinkle

Enthralled.

Playing with dragons and dragon eggs.  Occasionally, the teacher would just fling a box of toys to the other side of the room, and the kids would all scamper over in a giant baby stampede to get them.  It was hilarious.

"This egg makes noise!"

Mesmerized by the parachute.

Banging on the drums with my new buddy Jake.

"This place rocks!"

"Can we come back soon?"

John and Finn Update

John and his best buddy Finn are having the time of their lives now that they can crawl, climb, stand, and cruise all over the place.  Poor Kim - her job got exponentially harder overnight.  They are both doing so well every day with learning to do new tricks, and love chasing after each other and grabbing everything in the apartment that is not nailed down.  We are so grateful that John has a friend that he gets to hang out with every day - not to mention the best nanny ever!

Happy almost all the time...except for when those toothies start poking through again.  Good thing we have matching teething rings!

So big!

We're so big!

Meeting Baby Cristian

I'm sorry for the rapid fire posting....that's what happens when you sit down to blog once in a blue moon....

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting baby Cristian James Rizo!  Cristian is the son of our good friends (and my college roommate) Kelly and Augy Rizo.  He is just PERFECT.  Such a serious and thoughtful little guy - and so photogenic!  I know he and John are going to be great friends.

Cristian and his proud papa Augy

What a looker!

I want another one!  (Well, maybe not yet.  But I did change a poopy diaper.  He was that cute.)

Beautiful Cristian.  You are the most loved baby ever.

Playing with my friend Betsy

On Memorial Day, John and I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with my dear friend Kerri and her darling daughter Betsy at their home in Geneva.  We had a great time eating, chatting, playing and running around in Betsy's amazing "rumpus room!"  Makes me want to move to the suburbs for lots of ROOM to run around!

Mangos....mmmmmm

Playing with blocks in the rumpus room

It was wonderful to get together and gossip about kids, husbands, Mad Men, and all other important things.  We can't wait until next time - with Peter and Aaron too!

What John did during the wedding...

....had a blast with his nanny Kim!   I don't think he's ever this happy when we get him out of the bath!

Congratulations Courtney and Jeff!

So much going on!  Last weekend, Peter and I attended the wedding of our "cousin in law" Courtney Wolf, to her lovely fiance Jeff.  The wedding was at St. Josaphat here in Chicago, and the reception was at the Union League downtown.  Gorgeous!  They were so happy and a fun time was had by all.

Such a beautiful, intimate church...

Beautiful Bella Bridesmaid dresses

The happy couple stood at the altar facing the communion lines.  Very cool.

Mr. and Mrs. Marrone!

Big family weddings rock!
